The Energy Research Office (EPE) in the Fact Sheet Residential Energy Consumption by Income Class discusses energy consumption patterns in the Brazilian residential sector. The study runs an analysis disaggregated by energy sources, energy services and income classes for identifying possible evidence of energy poverty and potential for energy efficiency for households with different income levels in Brazil. This study aims to expand the discussion brought by EPE in the Fact Sheet Residential Electricity Consumption by Income Class to other energy sources consumed in the Brazilian residential sector.
The Fact Sheet Residential Energy Consumption by Income Class brings an extract of the most relevant messages from the 2023 Energy Efficiency Atlas's special chapter dedicated to the Residential Sector. Among the objectives of this chapter is the proposal of a methodology for international comparison of energy consumption patterns and estimation of inequality in access to energy services.
