The Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) in Brazil and synergy with Green Diesel report

The Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) in Brazil and synergy with Green Diesel report presents a comprehensive analysis of the current landscape and prospects to produce SAF in the country, highlighting its strategic importance for the decarbonization of the national (ProBioQAV) and international (Corsia) aviation sector. The trajectory examined considers projects already announced in Brazil and the additional volumes needed to meet decarbonization targets. Additionally, it introduces the Book & Claim approach, an innovative solution to overcome the challenges of SAF distribution, which reduces logistical complexity, stimulates production, and facilitates the achievement of decarbonization targets.

The study also highlights the synergy between SAF production and green diesel, showing that several technological routes generate both fuels, as well as co-products such as BioLPG and renewable naphtha. This integration can significantly contribute to the National Green Diesel Program (PNDV), expanding the supply of renewable fuels for the road transport sector.

By outlining pathways to achieving climate goals, the report reinforces Brazil's potential, thanks to its soil and climate conditions and consolidated experience with biofuels.
