The fourteenth edition of the Biofuels Situational Analysis presents relevant facts about the biofuels market that occurred in 2022. For the sugar-energy sector, there was a recovery in production factors and the maintenance of growth in ethanol from corn was observed. Consumption of Otto cycle fuels reached an all-time high, with hydrous ethanol once again losing share. Bioelectricity maintained its participation in the national matrix. In the biodiesel sector, the percentage of mandatory addition to the mixture remained at 10% by volume (B10) throughout the year. Biogas has been gaining relevance on the national scene, with the implementation of several public policies and the entry of new projects.
