EPE Releases English Version of Strategic Minerals Report for the Energy Transition

The Energy Research Office (EPE) has made available the English version of its report “Critical and Strategic Minerals for the Energy Transition.” This document provides an in-depth analysis of the essential minerals needed for the global and Brazilian energy transition, highlighting their critical role in the energy matrix.

The report, based on the Ten-Year Energy Expansion Plan 2034, identifies the key minerals required for Brazil's energy sector and electromobility, emphasizing the challenges and opportunities in mining and sourcing these materials. The English translation aims to broaden the global reach of the study, making it accessible to international stakeholders and providing valuable insights into the strategic importance of these minerals.

Originally released in Portuguese on March 20, the report was launched during a live webinar streamed on EPE's official YouTube channel. The event featured expert discussions on the report's findings, focusing on the geopolitical implications, supply chain issues, and market dynamics of critical minerals, both in Brazil and worldwide.
