Gustavo's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Brasília (2008), a Master of Science in Urban andEnvironmental Engineering from PUC-Rio and Technische Universität Braunschweig (2019), and a postgraduate degree in Piping Engineering from PUC-Rio (2010). He furthercompleted an MBA in Public Management at Enap in 2023. As of 2024, he is pursuing PhD degrees in Production Engineering at the University of São Paulo (USP) and inPublic Policies at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).Since joining EPE (Energy Research Office) in 2008, Gustavo has served as an Energy Research Analyst,contributing to power generation planning projects and studies. His responsibilities have encompassed energy auctions, river basin inventories, and projects involvingthermoelectric, wind, and solar generation, as well as coordinating planning for isolated systems. Subsequently, he spearheaded research into new power generation andstorage technologies. He held the positions of Technical Advisor and Deputy Head from 2016 to 2025, assuming the role of Head of the Power Generation Departmentthereafter.

THIAGO DOURADO MARTINS. Electrical engineer graduated at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in 2003. He obtained his master and doctorate degrees in Power Systems at COPPE/UFRJ in 2005 and 2010, respectively. In 2013, he completed an MBA in Project Management at Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV). Subsequently, in 2017, he completed the "Regulation of the Power Sector" course offered by the Florence School of Regulation. He works at EPE's Transmission Studies Department since 2006, serving as technical consultant from 2013 to 2019, as deputy superintendent from 2019 to 2022, and as superintendent from 2022 on. Between 2012 and 2020, he coordinated transmission planning studies in the Southern Region of Brazil.
