Director of Electric Energy Studies at the Energy Research Office (EPE, Brazil) and PhD Professor at Polytechnic School (University of São Paulo - USP), Erik was also professor of the Department of Economics at FEA-USP. He was co-founder and Executive Director at Excelência Energética Consulting Company (2003-2019), and chairman of the AmCham Energy Committee.
Graduated in Production Engineering from Polytechnic School (USP), Bachelor in Economic Sciences from FEA (USP), Master's and PhD in Energy Economics from IEE (USP), visiting researcher at the University of Illinois, United States, and specialization degree in derivatives maket from BM&F.

Head of Transmission Expansion Studies Department
Mr. Bressane holds a bachelor´s degree in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic School of University of São Paulo and has a master's degree in electrical power systems from Washington State University, USA. Has joined EPE since 2005, initially as an assistant to the Directorate of Electrical Energy Studies for 9 years, primarily carrying out executive coordination activities related to the Ten-Year Energy Plan (PDE) and to technical and economic feasibility of generation and transmission expansion projects, including regulatory parameters associated to power generation auctions. Since 2014 he is the Superintendent of Energy Transmission, coordinating all planning studies on the expansion of the interconnected electrical grid of the Brazilian system, including, among others, the technical and economic feasibility of the projects consolidated by MME for the transmission auctions held by ANEEL.
Prior to EPE, he worked for about 24 years in the consulting business for engineering companies (Themag, Promon, Mercados Energéticos / PSR), Shell Brasil and the ONS National System Operator) in the areas of integrated generation-transmission systems and electricity-gas projects, including the analysis of business opportunities, feasibility, technical-economic and regulatory aspects. As a transmission planner, his activities covered almost all the extra-high voltage grid of the Brazilian interconnected AC and DC system, and, in the Latin American context, the transmission networks of Chile, Argentina and Central America.
He is a member of the CIGRÉ - Conférence Internacionale des Grands Réseaux Eletriques à Haute Tension. He has published several papers in national and international conferences, and has also lectured on planning and engineering of power systems in various national and international forums.
Head of Generation Expansion Studies Department
Jorge Trinkenreich holds a BSc in Electric Engineering from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1972) and a MSc in information technology also from the Catholic University of Rio. He also holds an MBA from the Economics Institute of the Federal university of Rio de Janeiro (1998). Jorge has a long career in the electricity industry. He was the responsible for the generation planning studies at the group that coordinates the planning arrangements of Brazil (GCPS) and has had key positions in a number of Eletrobras divisions. In 2000 he joined PSR consulting where he became a technical director a few years later. In PSR Jorge had a key role in supervising economic and financial and planning studies in Brazil and abroad. In 2016 he joined EPE, where he heads the superintendence that carries out all generation planning studies for the Brazilian power system.

He is graduated in electrical engineering (UERJ – State University of Rio de Janeiro) and has MBA in Energy Business (FGV). He is also post-graduated in electrical engineering/instrumentation (UERJ) and has extension course in Energy Planning (UFRJ). Previously, he was Technical Consultant for 3 years and Deputy Superintendent for 2 years. He's been responsible for the coordination of the team of experts in charge of the analysis of feasibility studies and projects of various power generation technologies, such as wind, solar, hydro, biomass, natural gas and coal, especially for support of the electricity auctions.
