Reive Barros dos Santos takes office as President of EPE

The President Reive Barros took office this Monday, 21 May 2018. Reive was nominated by President last Thursday, 17 May 2018, when the Decree was published in the Union’s Official Journal

It was held on Tuesday a meeting with the company's employees counting on the presence of former president Luiz Augusto Barroso. At this moment, the president of EPE, Reive Barros, spoke to the presents about his commitment to the company, the new guidelines and prospective challenges. Among its objectives are strategic vision, the people management, the commitment with fast and wide communication, the constant investments in training (technical excellence) and cutting-edge innovation. 

The EPE is responsible for carrying out high-quality studies and research to support energy planning and wishes to remain as a reference of the Brazilian energy planning and become a world reference.

The Reive Barros is a former director of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel in portuguese) and an electrical engineer graduated from the Polytechnic School of Pernambuco in 1974. He is specialist in strategic administration, worked in large companies of the electric sector in the areas of distribution and transmission of electric energy. In addition to being a lecturer in the disciplines of Distribution and Transmission of Electrical Energy in the Polytechnic School of Pernambuco, University of Pernambuco (UPE in portuguese), since 1977.
