In order to identify the challenges and opportunities related to this
issue, EPE developed the Technical Note “Wind farms at the end of expected
lifetime: Current Status and Upcoming Options”. The document presents the
alternatives commonly adopted for wind farms at the end of their useful life,
international experiences with the theme, the current situation of Brazilian
wind farms, including estimation of energy gains with upgrading actions, in
addition to dealing with commercial, regulatory and environmental issues of energy
planning
